Calvary Christian Academy

Further Explanation of the
Objectives of our Mission Statement

Our view is that God has given ultimate responsibility to parents to educate and train their children. We come along side and assist the parents in this process. We do not see ourselves as taking the place of parents, therefore, parents must continue to parent their children and not assume that merely placing them into a Christian school fulfills their responsibilities.

The Christian school is not just another evangelistic tool of the church. We are much more than a private school with Christian teachers who are free to discuss the gospel with students. We are distinctly a Christian school reinforcing the values of Christian parents, coming along side to assist them in their goal of educating their children in a Christ honoring way. The gospel message will be clear and consistent and children will be saved, and taught genuine godliness.

Clearly, academics are important. CCA excels in the fundamentals of education; however, academic excellence is not the ultimate priority of Christian education. Our desire is to reach the heart of students for Christ and educate them for the future.

Some wrong ideas people may have about Christian schools are: first, they are a place to keep my kids away from the bad kids. Kids in Christian schools make bad choices too. Second, it is a place to reform my kids sinful ways. Parenting is the responsibility of parents. We will support parents in their values and efforts, but the responsibility rests with parents. Third, academic excellence is superior to other schools. Though Christian schools typically out perform other schools in the basics, we see ourselves as much more than just a good private school. We love the Lord and our goal is to motivate our kids to love Christ too. Last, Christian schools don't have problems like other schools. This is just not realistic. Imperfect people do not make perfect marriages, churches, or schools.

We desire all believers to consider a Christian school, but if they consider one for the wrong reasons, they may become disappointed. CCA is a philosophically driven institution.

You are always invited to visit and ask questions about CCA. Feel free to contact us anytime for a tour or just to ask a few questions. May God bless you and your children.
