Youth Group

|
Our senior high youth ministry is distinctive. We provide a format that emphasizes both being godly on the inside and doing ministry for God.
The balance between being and doing is not easily achieved, but is necessary to avoid the spiritual pitfalls of hypocrisy and self-centeredness.
Purpose
Our youth ministry seeks to glorify God by…
- CHALLENGING teens to serve God.
- PROVIDING many opportunities to minister as individuals and as a group.
- ENCOURAGING teens to grow in Christ by developing spiritual disciplines in their lives (devotions, verse memorization, taking sermon notes).
- ENGAGING teens in meaningful small-group discussion of what the Bible teaches and how it applies to their lives.
- INVOLVING teens in genuine heartfelt worship through uplifting music, scripture and prayer groups.
Usual Format
From November through May, we meet each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the youth room (upstairs above the church kitchen).
- WARM-UP: Energetic team competition in our gym.
- PRAYER GROUPS: Teens bring their requests before the Lord.
- PRAISE: We sing lively guitar choruses.
- SMALL GROUPS: Teens participate in meaningful spiritual discussions with their peers about what the Bible teaches and how it applies to their lives.
